More about Janine

Janine Niehaus is more than just an experienced clinical dietitian — she’s a mother, artist, innovator, and passionate foodie. At home, she’s mom to two teenagers and finds creative expression through her love of soft pastel art. When not consulting or teaching, you’ll likely find her experimenting in the kitchen, blending flavours and testing healthy new recipes.

With over two decades of experience in clinical nutrition, Janine specializes in intensive hospital nutrition (including ICU), diabetes education, obesity, gut health, menopause, cancer support, and inflammatory conditions. She works closely with a trusted network of medical professionals across the West Coast, including CancerCare Vredenburg, internists, surgeons, paediatricians, GPs, and gynaecologists — ensuring truly collaborative, patient-centred care.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Janine also leads corporate wellness programs, facilitates group-based weight-loss journeys in partnership with Village Fitness and Christel Swart Biokineticist, and develops products and recipes with brands like Carmen Niehaus, Carmién Teas, and Back-to-Basics Nutrition.

Janine brings both science and soul to her work, meeting every client with warmth, compassion, and a commitment to real, sustainable transformation.

More about Jana

Jana Nel is a passionate, people-centred dietitian who believes that food is one of the most powerful tools for lasting health. Based in the heart of Moorreesburg, Jana is a proud mom of two, a book lover, a social butterfly, and an avid runner who thrives on early morning jogs through the golden Swartland fields. Whether she’s curled up with a good novel or sharing laughter around a table with friends, Jana finds joy in both connection and balance — values she brings into her nutrition practice.

With a BSc in Dietetics (honours) from Stellenbosch, a Master’s degree in Nutrition, and an Advanced Health Management qualification through Yale-affiliated training, Jana combines academic excellence with real-world compassion. Over the past 15+ years, she has worked extensively across hospitals and communities, offering expert care in diabetes, maternal and infant nutrition, HIV, TB, and lifestyle conditions.

Jana’s deep roots in public health and research — including work with the Medical Research Council — allow her to bring a well-rounded, evidence-based approach to each client. She believes in meeting people where they are and walking alongside them with practical, sustainable strategies for better health and wellbeing.
